A three year old boy accidentally shot himself in the United States.
Police said he was handling a gun at his own birthday party in Porter, Texas over the weekend.
A shot was released.
The projectile hit the boy in the chest.
Shortly afterwards he succumbed to his injuries despite emergency treatment.
According to the police, the boy celebrated his third birthday with his family and friends.
According to the investigation, the gun fell out of the pocket of one of the adult guests.
According to the weapons-critical organization Moms Demand Action, such tragic incidents have been increasing since schools were closed as a result of the corona pandemic.
