Reconfinement: schools, colleges and high schools remain open

2020-10-28T19:35:59.416Z

The new national confinement, announced this Wednesday by Emmanuel Macron, will be more flexible than that of March.

This is a major difference from the first national confinement.

Kindergartens, primary schools, colleges and high schools will remain open during this second seal of France, announced Emmanuel Macron this Wednesday evening.

In contrast, higher education will be done online.

In the spring, many parents had suffered from the telework / childcare combo.

"We are always cut in half and in the end, we do everything in half," recalled a mother when we asked her Tuesday about the possibility of a new closure of schools.

"In France, the school is not suitable for remote work", also said a parent of a student.

During the first confinement, a day care service had been set up so that the personnel "essential to the management of the health crisis" could keep their children and continue to go to work.

Parents who had to take care of their children under 16 were entitled to a compensated work stoppage of up to 90% of the gross salary.

This rate had fallen to 70% from May 1, date on which the device had switched to the partial unemployment mechanism.
