(ANSA) - MILAN, 28 OCT - Distance lessons but under the seat of the Lombardy Region.

It is the peaceful protest organized this morning in Milan by the students of the Volta high school, one of the most important scientists in the city.

A defense against the decision of the Region to foresee at least until November 13 the distance teaching at least 100% mandatory for secondary schools, except for laboratories and for some categories with special educational needs, with the aim of reducing the pressure on public transport.

Decision confirmed in the new anti-Covid ordinance signed yesterday by the governor Atttilio Fontana.

The students made an appointment this morning under Palazzo Lombardia.

Then - seated, spaced and wearing a mask - they pulled books, PCs, tablets, smartphones out of their backpacks and started following the elections with earphones.

"The students of the Liceo Scientifico Alessandro Volta protect under the Lombardy Region, studying and participating in the lessons in Dad. It is a splendid deafening silence, unacceptable instead is the silence of the institutions" commented the Lombard regional councilor of + Europa MicheleUsuelli, who published on his profile Facebook the sit-in photos.

"We understand the reasons for the economy, but a country that does not know how to protect its schools is without a future. What a disappointment, what bitterness, what anger", wrote a few days ago the principal of the school, Domenico Squillace, in a letter to the parents of the pupils.
