Adapt to the crisis.
This is the watchword of the TF1 group.
Thanks to its strong audiences during the summer with the Champions League final and Koh Lanta, and a catching-up effect of its advertisers, particularly in the food and automotive industries, the group saw its advertising revenue jump by 8, 2%, in the third quarter.
But in anticipation of a new confinement, Philippe Denery, the financial director of the group says he is ready to continue his savings in November and December to face a possible drop in turnover.
Over the first nine months, the group has already achieved nearly 200 million euros in savings (138 million on programs and 57 million on overheads).
The production pole with Newen would be the most affected by a new confinement.
In the meantime, the audiovisual production subsidiary has already shot enough episodes of the new soap opera Here everything begins, which will appear late Monday afternoon, to last a few weeks.
Over the first nine months of 2020, the TF1 group posted sales of 1.36 billion euros, down 15.7%, and net income of 77 million, down 34.6%.
