(ANSA) - BOGOTA ', 29 OCT - Colombian President IvánDuque announced that in an effort to contain the spread of the pandemic from Covid-19, an extension of the current program of selective isolation with social distancing has been arranged until 30 November.
This was reported by Radio Caracol di Bogotà.
Speaking last night in a radio program, Duque explained that "during the month of October we maintained selective isolation with responsible individual distancing and today I gave clear instructions, after consulting the authorities and experts in the sector, to prepare a decree to extend everything to to November 30 ".
The decision implies the maintenance of the closure of land and sea borders and prohibits the organization throughout the national territory of public and private events, as well as social meetings, which involve the participation of many people.
Finally, addressing the population and local administrators, the head of state addressed "an appeal for conscience, behavior, discipline and civil culture to prevail, so as to be able to surpass the month of November in a safe way, better preparing for the Christmas holidays".
According to the statistics prepared by the Colombian Ministry of Health, since March cases of contagion have reached 1,041,935, while the deaths are 30,753. (ANSA).
