The president of the scientific council, Jean-François Delfraissy, does not envisage an exit from the curfew before January.

He welcomes a decision "rapid" and "adjusted to the current health situation".

Jean-François Delfraissy, the president of the scientific council, guest of France Inter, returned this Thursday morning to the health situation of the country the day after the announcement of a new confinement.

He doesn't see any improvement until January.

The situation will be "extremely difficult" for the hospital system for two to three weeks due to the second wave of the Covid-19 epidemic, first warned Jean-François Delfraissy.

"We are going to have 15 days to three weeks extremely difficult for the health care system, it will be true in several regions of France, we had planned it at the level of the scientific council for several weeks now", declared Professor Delfraissy, president the scientific council, body which guides the government.

A likely Christmas curfew

According to him, the most likely scenario is that the confinement, announced until at least December 1, ends with a curfew that would remain in place during the holiday season.

"The scenario is rather to have a confinement of this type for a month, to look at the indicators [...] and to leave the confinement with a curfew", which would remain in place until "at the beginning of January", a- he advanced.
