(ANSA.) - LISBON, OCTOBER 31 - From next Wednesday, November 4, Portugal returns to a partial lockdown that will affect 70% of its population.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Lisbon, Antonio Costa, at the end of an ordinary council of ministers dedicated to the health crisis.
"The time has come when it is necessary to take more restrictive measures to have control over this pandemic. The Portuguese premier explained that all those affected by the lockdown will be required to respect" a civic duty of home confinement ", but will be able to leave their home to go to work, where smartworking is not possible, and to accompany the children to school.
Costa then announced that with the president of the public Marcelo Robelo de Sousa he will study the possibility of declaring a state of emergency in the municipalities affected by this new confinement.
The list of these municipalities will be re-evaluated every two weeks.
To avoid the traditional All Saints Day gatherings, the Portuguese government has already banned unjustified travel between various municipalities from Friday to Tuesday.
Finally, from next Wednesday, the use of the mask outdoors will be mandatory throughout the country.
