Peed, smeared, symbolically placed under bars - and now badly damaged for the fourth time: Donald Trump's star on the "Walk on Fame" in Hollywood has already endured a lot in recent years.
The US president's star was smashed with a pickaxe on Friday, US media reported.
The promiportal "TMZ.com" posted a video of the incident on the net, on which it can be seen that the perpetrator with the hoe first had to work his way through a wooden cover, which was apparently supposed to protect the star from attacks.
A 56-year-old man, who is said to have damaged the star for the third time, was arrested for willful damage.
According to police, James O. put $ 45,000 on bail and was released a few hours later.
In spring he has to appear at two court dates.
The rich businessman, who describes himself as an activist, only demolished the badge at the beginning of October.

Local politicians cited Trump's contempt for women, his statements about immigrants and his ties to Russia as the reason.
In October 2016, shortly before Trump's election victory, James O. had attacked the star for the first time with a sledgehammer and was arrested for it.
He said at the time that he acted out of anger at the way Trump treated women and minorities.
He was given a suspended sentence and had to pay for the repair costs.
The "Walk of Fame" with more than 2,700 stars honors merits in show business.
It runs right through the center of Hollywood.
The badge is quickly repaired after damage.
