(ANSA) - GENOA, OCTOBER 31 - Accused of circumvention of incapacity, for having celebrated the marriage of a 93-year-old man at the end of his life to a 72-year-old woman, a priest risks a 16-month sentence.
This is what the public ministry Gabriella Dotto asked for don Pietro Franco, parish priest of Boccadasse in Genoa.
The prosecutor asked for a four-year sentence for the bride, Gabriella Radaelli and 16 months for the woman's son and 20 months for his girlfriend, witnesses of the marriage.
The unsuspecting spouse was Carlo Gian Battista Bianchi Albrici, a Milanese entrepreneur who moved to Genoa with a millionaire inheritance.
According to the prosecution, the union was celebrated stealthily at night.
Thus the seventy-year-old would become heir to the entrepreneur's empire.
The alleged scam was discovered by BianchiAlbrici's son, who challenged the will and denounced the woman.
The priest claimed that he married a couple in love.
But according to the judge who sent him to trial with witnesses, there would be no shadow of love.
The facts date back to 2017. (ANSA).
