The entrepreneur Antonello Ieffi was sentenced to 2 and a half years in prison, accused of disruption of the auction in a tender called by Consip for the purchase and supply of 3 million masks never arrived in Italy.
This was decided by the single judge of Rome who acquitted the accused of the crime of non-fulfillment of contracts in public supplies with the formula because the fact does not exist.
It is the first sentence linked to an investigation born during the Coronavirus emergency.
Ieffi was arrested on April 9 in the middle of the lockdown and released from prison about a month later. At the heart of the legal matter was a tender for the supply of individual protection for a total value of 15.8 million euros.
