Watch a video of the hands - and the surprise

A man who was sure he had found the body of an animal buried beneath the surface after seeing a pair of tiny hands peeking out from under the dirt - very quickly discovered his mistake.

Laiom, the man in the video, shared what he found on Reddit and showed viewers what happened when he touched hands that looked dead.

As he approached the area with the camera, he detected movement underground.

Gently he cleaned the fingertips of the beast, and suddenly the beast turned and he discovered that it was an armadillo.

He was surprised and shouted, "Oh, hey, what's up?".

Haifa looked at him for a second, and began digging back under the dirt to hide himself again.

He flipped over, hid his body again in the dirt and took his legs out into the air.

The video was viewed more than 110,000 times and some viewers laughed that the user was interfering with Armadillo sleeping.

"I was scared for a moment, he's so cute," one responded and Shani added, "he's just like Sandersho in Pokemon."

Others explained that the armadillo hides in the dirt to cool its body.

"This is his temperature-lowering strategy. He approaches colder materials with the softer parts of his body to lower the heat. Just the opposite of us when we turn pillows to find the cold side in our face."

The armadillo is mostly inhabited in Brazil and is considered an extinct animal by the International Union for the Conservation of Animals.
