Neither the polemics, nor the opening by the Paris prosecutor's office of an investigation for "incitement to racial hatred" and "racist public insults" have dissuaded viewers.

In October, CNews achieved its all-time audience record of 1.8%.

A giant leap: a year earlier, the Canal + group channel barely achieved 0.7%.

This means that CNews has seen its audience increase by 2.5 times in the space of just twelve months.

Certainly, the very promising news, between the outbreak of Covid-19, the attacks committed in recent weeks in France or the American presidential election, has more generally boosted the audience of news channels.

BFMTV thus gained 1.1 points to 3.2%.

LCI climbed 0.3 point to 1.2% and franceinfo reached 0.7% of the audience, up 0.2 point.

But CNews' rapid growth remains the most spectacular.

While almost all of its time slots are on the rise, the channel owned by Vincent Bolloré has mainly benefited from the locomotive effect of some of these programs.

Like “Face à l'Info”, with polemicist Eric Zemmour, who saw his audience explode.

In October, the program, broadcast at 7 pm, attracted an average of 587,000 viewers, against 149,000 a year earlier.

The audience for the show tripled.

By now, CNews has become the number one news channel.

On October 28, just before Emmanuel Macron's intervention, “Face à l'Info” was followed by 706,000 people.

A peak of 964,000 viewers was even recorded that evening.

"The Hour of the Pros", presented by Pascal Praud is also growing very strongly.

In the morning, the show now attracts 347,000 viewers against 136,000 a year ago.

That is an increase of 155%.

In the evening, “L'heure des pros 2” displays 500,000 viewers against 91,000 in October 2019, an increase of 450%.

The channel's good audiences, despite the controversies, attract more advertisers.

Last month, the channel claimed 152, 22 more than a year ago.
