Selena Quintanilla-Pérez was on her way to absolute world fame in the 90s.
She was the first Latin American woman to win a
Grammy in the Best Mexican-American Album category
and shaped the Tex-Mex genre like no other

At the same time she was considered down-to-earth and charismatic and was also able to prove herself as a successful business woman with her own fashion label.
It was all the more tragic for her

on March 31, 1995, shortly before her 24th birthday.
