(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 4 - Reassuring, intriguing as much as it is between sentimental, unexpected and class contrasts and, why not, even repetitive so as to create affection among viewers: born in the US radio schedules in the 1930s, soap show the signs of aging.

Indeed, they continue to retain the public, especially women, even in times of pandemic.

In October, the general-interest channels Rai and Mediaset broadcast 71 hours of it, obtaining an average audience of 1 million and 600 thousand people aged 4 and over for each episode, 1 million of whom are women.

It emerges from a research by Studio Frasi based on Auditel data.


    The longest-running - has just celebrated its 30th birthday - is still the most followed: Beautiful has collected an average of 2.8 million spectators in October.

After four years on Rai2 since 1990 and a very short passage on Retequattro, since 1994 the soap is one of the strengths of the afternoon of Canale 5, followed by Una vita, Il Segreto, Men and Women and the sequences of Grande fratellovip.

On the weekend, the Turkish soap Day dreamer - The wings of the dream is broadcast: a success with 2.2 million viewers.


   The offer - points out Studio Frasi - is harmonious, emotionally similar: it is no coincidence that 76.8% of those who follow Una vita have already seen Beautiful and 71.4% of those who watch The Secret also see Unavita.


    On the Rai front, the focus is on production soaps: Ilparadiso delle donne, set in Milan, which presides over the afternoon of Rai1, and Un posto al sole, shot in Naples, in the access prime time of Rai 3. For both, the ratings are all respect: in October, Paradiso had an average of 2 million spectators, Un posto al sole 1.7 million.


    The genre confirms its hard core of viewers and the high permanence of the public: Beautiful collects 2.8 million every day who remain glued to the program for 72% of the duration.

The soaps of the generalist networks boast a permanence of more than 61%: in addition to the Beautiful, Una vita (66%) and Il paradiso delle donne (63%) also exceed the average.

The audience is mainly female (72%), in particular for the Ladies Paradise (76%), while the most masculine soap is Un posto al sole (37%).
