(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 05 - In recent years the perception of the value of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in work has changed, companies that have understood it have six times more chances of being successful with the use of this technology.

But despite this, only one in ten companies generates significant financial benefits with AI.

This is what emerges from the study published by MIT Sloan Management Review (the journal of the business school of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Cambridge), Boston Consulting Group (Bcg) Gamma and Bcg Henderson Institute, The report, entitled 'Expanding AI's Impact With Organizational Learning ', is based on a survey of more than 3,000 managers from 112 countries and takes into consideration a nearly four-year review of AI adoption across sectors.

Compared to the data collected in 2017, today 70% of executives around the world have understood that this tool can generate commercial value (they were 57% in 2017), 59% of them now have a strategy for applying the new tool (compared to to 39% in 2017) and 57% say that the implementation of AI is already underway in their companies (46% in 2017).

But despite this, only one in ten companies generates significant financial benefits with AI.

According to the study, targeted investments can be the solution to generate value.

For example, building critical capabilities, such as AI deployment infrastructure, talent and strategy, would increase the likelihood of success by 19%.

"Our Italian experience suggests that organizations that truly create value through AI have not only changed their processes to use these tools, but have also learned over time through AI how to further improve their processes - says Roberto Ventura. , Partner of BCG - The key is not to teach the machines, not even to learn from the machines. The key is to learn with the machines, in a systematic and continuous way ".
