Ephemeral messages arrive on WhatsApp too.
If the user decides to activate the feature, which will be available worldwide starting this month, new messages sent in a chat will no longer be visible after 7 days.
The function, the company explains in a note, is to make "the conversation lighter and more private".

Ephemeral messages are therefore not meant to be fleeting like platforms like Snapchat.
