A group of social organizations, together with Barrios de Pie, the Polo Obrero, and the MST are holding a demonstration in downtown Buenos Aires and cutting off traffic on 9 de Julio Avenue, near the Obelisk.

The flow of cars that travels down Corrientes avenue are diverted to Callao because the protesters occupy the Plaza de la República and the avenues.

The claim of the protest has to do with the assistance to dining rooms and picnic areas that receive more and more people and do not receive remuneration for volunteers or reinforcement of food from the Ministry of Social Development.

From the organization of the "Day of cuts against hunger", which will be replicated in various points of the City of Buenos Aires, they explained that the Ministry of Development "justifies the cut by saying that it was a help for the pandemic as if everything had back to normality, ending the daily tragedy that keeps collapsed hospitals for inmates and an escalation of deaths that does not stop. "

"From the Movement Barrios de Pie - Libres del Sur, we demand urgent assistance to support the more than 30 dining rooms and picnic areas throughout the City, where more than 3,000 families who are victims of the crisis are fed who cannot guarantee a plate of hot food for their children, "they highlighted in their statement.
