(In the video: Another suggestion for a trip to Ramon Crater)

About the place:

Hold on tight, because we are about to challenge your world: it turns out that in Israel there are two mountains that answer to the name "Mount Camel".

One in the Galilee and the other in the heights of Ramon Crater.

One is supposed to look like a camel.

The other really looks like a camel.

But really.

Indeed, in this story there is also a slight injustice, because precisely the mountain that looks exactly like a camel, has not really been given an official name.

Maybe because it's a kind of huge rock mass and not really a "mountain".

So as you already understand, we are on Mount Gamel in Mitzpe Ramon.

Does it just seem to us that this is actually a huge, real camel, petrified in front of the mesmerizing views of the crater, and in a moment will rise in a rush and continue on its way?

Go know.

At an early sunrise, in front of this mighty desert, the imagination can certainly deceive.

One way or another, the climb to Camel Mountain takes exactly 30 seconds.

Yes, it's a real dwarf, but when you get up and look down, to the gaping crater of Ramon Crater - it looks like you're at the top of the world.

The one who said: Everything is relative has already been said.

To the "top" of the mountain leads a staircase that rests on the rock itself, and upstairs, on the camel hump, a fun observation deck has been built that can accommodate quite a few hikers.

But the most fun will be if you find yourself completely alone.

You should arrive towards sunset or at sunrise, while the effect intensifies and everything is painted in bright shades of romantic orange.

Do not bother with this recommendation - because at noon today everything looks different.

Yes, still beautiful, but not as spectacular as at sunrise / sunset.

In addition, bring with you not only your good coffee set, but also warm clothes.

This mountain may be a dwarf, but still - you are now at 857 meters above sea level.

It is best to arrive towards sunset or at sunrise.

One more thing:

after getting off the hump, walk towards the familiar "Albert Promenade", from which there are views of the Ramon Crater in full view.

Before you reach the promenade, you will discover a strange structure: a cube lying in glorious solitude in front of the landscape.

Approaching, and discovering that it is a kind of personal or double room, without a roof, even with three walls.

Inside there is a peeking bench for the view, as well as stone bells in the window, which create a perfect spiritual soundtrack (literally).

You can meditate here, look at the landscape.

Whatever you want.

The main thing is that it will be slow and quiet.

This work is called "Landscape Room", and was inaugurated last summer by the artist and architect Ben Gitai, when the construction was carried out by Shahar Vanu from "Am Adama", using a particularly ecological construction method, called "Shocked Earth" Compressed), this method is revived in the big world, both due to the aesthetic benefits and thanks to the great energy savings.

Aesthetic, economical, ecological, but most of all - will throw you to good places.

Just enter this cube and wait for the miracle to happen.

Make an impression on the guys:

Ramon Crater is one of several dozen places around the world that have been awarded the title of "Starlight Reserve".

Wait for the night and understand why.

Eat in the area:

On normal days (not Corona-beaten), try the "Cliff Restaurant" on the edge of the crater, as well as the Edge Restaurant, which serves home-cooked food. Have you reached Camel Mountain at sunset?

Arrive:

"Camel Mountain" in Wise.

Just note that this is Mitzpe Ramon and not the Galilee.
