A recommended all-purpose cleaner should loosen dirt properly and not pollute the environment excessively.

Almost half of the cleaning agents in the test found this balance.

We criticize some of them because of problematic chemicals.

On the one hand, the experts at the consumer magazine examined whether the cleaning agents contain problematic fragrances and ingredients as well as environmentally harmful substances.

On the other hand, all all-

purpose

cleaners were tested for their cleaning

performance

in a practical test.

The result: while expensive products

fail

in the

test

, consumers get the

products

that received top marks in the test for little money.

Test of all-purpose cleaners: Öko-Test advises against these products

Some products in the test could

not convince

the experts from

Öko-Test

, among other things because they contain problematic substances.

These three all-purpose cleaners have the

test

failed:

  • "Ajax Ultra 7 Lemon Freshness" by CP Gaba

  • "Fit all-purpose cleaner lemon freshness" by Fit

  • “Sagrotan all-purpose cleaner pure freshness” from Reckitt Benckiser

“Not for normal households”, says Öko-Test about the “Sagrotan all-purpose cleaner pure freshness”.

The universal cleaner removed

any dirt perfectly

in the

test

, but according to consumer experts it contains several problematic substances, including the disinfectant benzalkonium chloride.

Another

problematic

substance in the Sagrotan cleaner is the fragrance Lilial.

According to the

Öko-Test,

this substance has been shown to be

harmful to

reproduction in animal experiments.

In the

all-purpose cleaner

from Fit, consumer experts have found the preservative methylisothiazolinone (MIT).

This can even irritate the immune system and trigger allergies.

Öko-Test: Consumers should pay attention to this when using all-purpose cleaners

In the current

test

, the experts from Öko-Test also provide information on how to use

all-purpose cleaners

.

These do not belong in the hands of children, and adults should always wear gloves when using these cleaning agents.

Furthermore,

Öko-Test

advises

to use all-purpose cleaners sparingly and to clean with cold water.

Empty bottles and their caps must be disposed of individually in the plastic waste.

The experts also point out the following: "If everyone is healthy at home, it is

not necessary to clean your own household with disinfectants

even during

Corona

.

Commercially available cleaners are completely sufficient. ”(Helena Gries)
