(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 08 - The election of Joe Biden as president of the United States represents "an opportunity" for Washington to correct its "mistakes".
Iranian President Hassan Rohani said so.
"Now an opportunity presents itself for the future American administration to remedy its previous mistakes and return to the path of adhering to its international commitments," Rohani said in a statement posted on the official website of the Iranian presidency after the victory of the Biden-Harris Democrat.
Donald Trump's US in 2018 unilaterally abandoned the Iranian nuclear deal reached in 2015, when Barack Obama was US president, and then imposed a series of heavy sanctions on Tehran, especially on oil and finances, which are putting adura test the economy of the Islamic Republic.
