The Ministry of Health reported this Tuesday that 279 deaths were reported from coronavirus and that 11,977 new infected were identified in the last 24 hours.

With these registries, there are 1,262,476 positives in the country, of which 1,081,897 are recovered patients and 146,396 are active confirmed cases.

At the moment the number of deceased people is 34,183.

In the last 24 hours, 31,535 tests were carried out and since the beginning of the outbreak, 3,289,756 diagnostic tests were carried out for this disease, which is equivalent to 72,498 samples per million inhabitants.

Regarding the number of new infections, Buenos Aires, with 3,428 is the one who registered the most in the last 24 hours.

They are followed by Santa Fe (1,691), Córdoba (1,622), Tucumán (689), City of Buenos Aires (560), Río Negro (539), Mendoza (520) and Chubut (511).

Meanwhile, tests and research are progressing and expectations are growing in the scientific community, and throughout the world, for the development of Pfizer's vaccine against coronavirus, after this Monday the North American pharmaceutical company announced that "it is 90% effective to prevent people from contracting the virus.

Phase 3 of the Pfizer trial involved 43,538 participants from six countries.

They received two doses of the immunization or a placebo, with 90% protection against the virus, within 28 days of the injection.

Only 94 people who participated in the trial developed coronavirus.

"No serious safety issues were reported," they said from Pfizer.

Meanwhile, the Buenos Aires Minister of Health,

Daniel Gollan

, was sure that it will be the vast majority of Argentines who decide to get vaccinated and said that those who do not will be a tiny group of "irresponsible" people.

"The problem is not one of those who do not want to be vaccinated, it will be a group of irresponsible people, who do what they want. Let's show that 99% are going to want to be vaccinated, let's

not show that group of irresponsible, delusional people,

" he remarked in a interview with Radio Provincia.

And he assured that if the vast majority of Buenos Aires residents are vaccinated, it will be possible to "spend next year as a much more normal

year

and

the following year, forgetting about the problem and transforming it into a flu

."
