Medical teams appear to be voting in favor of the flu vaccine this year.

Medical teams are one of the target groups for vaccination against influenza, but despite this, in previous years medical teams rarely vaccinated and only about a third of them were actually vaccinated against the virus.

This year it seems that the immunization rate among doctors, nurses, nurses and auxiliary staff in hospitals is expected to rise.

Data published yesterday by the Ministry of Health show that so far 80% of the staff at Bnei Zion Hospital and 76% of the staff at Assuta Tel Aviv have been vaccinated, as well as 54% of the medical staff at Hasharon and Carmel hospitals.

However, in large hospitals the immunization rate is lower.

In Ichilov we vaccinated 52% of the teams, in Sheba 50%, in Beilinson 44%, in Soroka 42%, and in Hadassah Ein Kerem only 24%.

This is encouraging data compared to last year, when we vaccinated 36% of the teams.

Two years ago we were vaccinated 37%, and three years ago 40% were vaccinated against the flu.

"The numbers so far are good. There are hospitals where the immunization rate is higher than 60% and we exceeded last year's immunization rate," says Dr. Triff Bader, who is in charge of preparing for the flu at the Ministry of Health. The medical and the staff in the hospitals, from the guard at the entrance to the manager.

Fortunately, there is a high response from almost all hospitals. "

Prof. Yaron Niv, VP of Quality at the Ministry of Health, who presented the immunization data, said: “We want to reach a national success rate of 85% in vaccinating medical teams against the flu.

It is of the utmost importance, both to prevent the infection of patients and to prevent the shutdown of medical staff. "Dr. Zeev Feldman, chairman of the Association of State Physicians, who was vaccinated against influenza:" Dr. Galia Bar-On, director of the Mammography Institute, Wolfson Medical Center, who was vaccinated against the flu, said: "I was vaccinated against the flu because I care about my patients' well-being. In addition, I want to be healthy and not miss work days." .
