(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, NOV 10 - "Today Turkey is so besieged because it has resumed its struggle for independence, as a century ago".
Thus the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, commenting on the international tensions surrounding his government in a speech at the presidential palace in Ankara, on the occasion of the commemorations for the 82nd anniversary of the death of the founder of the Turkish Republic, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
"It is by fighting the protection of those who believe themselves to be the masters of this state, that is, the slaves of the West, that we have allowed our country to achieve results on a global level", added the leader of Ankara, accusing international finance of wanting to weaken his government.
"Today the International Monetary Fund is like capitulations in the Ottoman era," said the Turkish president.
