For a continuous night: A senior doctor at Rambam Hospital ran no less than 166 km.
Dr. Yishai Reuven, an AG specialist with a specialization in the field of balance, performed the run in order to raise awareness of the problems of dizziness and loss of balance, from which about 25% of the population suffers.
This past weekend, Dr. Reuven took on the impressive challenge of running a 166-kilometer ultra-marathon for the first time in his life, with each kilometer of running dedicated to raising funds for the establishment of a center for dizziness and balance problems at Maimonides.
The race started on Thursday at 16:00 and lasted into the night until Friday morning. On the route, Dr. Reuven crossed the Jezreel Valley and the Gilboa Regional Council, and in various sections joined other social activists and runners from groups promoting awareness of other diseases. Among the other participants in the run: At Rambam, and Prof. Miki Sheinovich, Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tel Aviv University and head of the Silvan Adams Institute.
