Coronavirus in France: 425 deaths and 33,172 contaminations in 24 hours

In total, 32,654 patients are currently hospitalized in France for a SARS-CoV-2 infection. A figure that exceeds the recorded peak


Some 33,172 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in the past 24 hours in France, this Thursday.

The day before, this figure rose to 35,879 people tested positive, against more than 40,000 to 60,000 the previous days.

The health authorities also record 425 additional deaths due to Covid-19, against 329 on Wednesday.

In total, 42,960 people have died from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic in France, including 29,697 in hospitals.

4884 patients in intensive care

In the last 24 hours, 386 people have been admitted to intensive care for a total number of patients which stood at 4,884 on Thursday, against 4,789 on Wednesday, for 6,400 beds currently available (but also for other pathologies).

The number of beds should soon increase to 7,500, as announced by the Minister of Health, Olivier Véran.

In total, 32,654 patients are currently hospitalized in France for a SARS-CoV-2 infection.

A figure that exceeds the peak recorded on April 14, with 32,292 hospitalizations.
