(ANSA) - MILAN, 16 NOV - With the request to be part of the civil service by 66 passengers who on the morning of 25 January 2018 were on the derailed regional train in Pioltello, the union of the railway workers Orsa and the association of Codes consumers, to which the appeal by one of the 10 defendants, the preliminary hearing for the railway accident in the Milan hinterland in which three people died was opened today in one of the mega classrooms in the Milan Fair.
The proceeding, which is being held before the gup Anna Magelli, is charged to two managers, including the CEO MaurizioGentile, seven employees and technicians of RFI (Reteferroviaria Italiana), and the same company, accused of culpable railway disaster, murder multiple culpable and negligent injuries.
The judge, after having collected the requests, postponed the hearing to next December 16, the day on which, after the discussion of the accusation and defenses, he will decide on the constitution of the civil party.
After which the word will pass to the prosecutors Maura Ripamonti and Leonardo Lesti for their intervention in which they will reiterate the request for trial for all the suspects, excluding Ernesto Salvatore, at the time responsible for the Lavoridi Treviglio Maintenance Unit of Rete Ferrovaria Italiana Spa, to which the Prosecutor gave positive opinion on the plea bargain proposed by the defense at three and a half years in prison.
