In the trial of the attack on the synagogue in Halle an der Saale, the federal prosecutor's office has demanded a life sentence for the defendant Stephan Balliet.
"The attack on the synagogue in Halle was one of the most disgusting anti-Semitic acts since the Second World War," said Federal Prosecutor Kai Lohse on Wednesday before the Naumburg Higher Regional Court.
The Federal Prosecutor's Office also wants to determine the particular gravity of the guilt, which makes early release from prison after 15 years unlikely.
