Bici Pantani at auction, Bolaffi sells Mercatone Uno memorabilia

Two bikes by Marco Pantani, signed shirts, paintings, sculptures and cups. The epic of Mercatone Uno, a team that has written important pages in the history of cycling, is going up for auction on the occasion of the auction that Bolaffi dedicates to Sport memorabilia, scheduled for live internet mode on 9 December. The bikes proposed among the 37 lots, with an estimated value of between 25 thousand and 30 thousand euros, are two Bianchi racing models with a special ultralight alloy frame made specifically for Pantani. The first bike was used during the 2000 Tour de France, during which with the same model the champion won the stage from Carpentras to Mont Ventoux on 13 July, finishing ahead of Lance Armstrong, and the Briançon-Courchevel on 16 July, in which he gave almost a minute to the American himself. The second, however, was used for the road test of the 2000 Olympics held in Sydney. In the year in which the Pirate would have turned 50, the auction offers the opportunity to conquer a piece of Italian cycling history, giving collectors and admirers of his exploits, but also associations and potential patrons, the opportunity to keep long live the memory of the great climber.
