(ANSA) - NEW YORK, NOVEMBER 18 - Doctors of the White House Coronavirus Task Force have warned Vice President Mike Pence of the risk that in the US there will be an average of 1,500 deaths per day already next week and 2,000 deaths per day by Christmas.

This is if no new restrictions are adopted.

This was revealed to CBS News by two senior officials of the US administration.

Experts said the covid situation is disastrous and getting worse. They are also concerned that the anticipated spikes will cause a hospital invasion and force the United States to return to the frenzied early stage of the pandemic. To prevent this from happening, doctors recommended closing bars and lostop service indoors for restaurants. Schools, on the other hand, may remain open because data shows that contagion rates are low. (HANDLE).
