The US rock band Guns N 'Roses wants to appear on a stadium tour in a year.

This is the first tour announcement since the beginning of the corona pandemic with border closings and performance breaks, the band announced.

A tour with eight concerts in New Zealand and Australia is to take place in November 2021 under the slogan "Stadium Rock is Back!"

In May the group around the founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan had to cancel their European tour planned for early summer 2020 at short notice.

The band wants to make up for some of the canceled gigs in the coming summer.

It is unclear whether and to what extent large concerts will then be possible again.

Corona under control in Australia and New Zealand

Unlike European or American states, Australia and New Zealand have brought the coronavirus under control.

The number of new infections in both countries is currently in the double-digit range.

In the course of the first corona wave, Australia and New Zealand had imposed strict travel restrictions and closed their borders early.

Events are now taking place again in both countries.

For example, thousands of spectators come to the stadiums at the tri-nation rugby tournament.

The events industry in Germany is suffering a lot from the corona crisis.

Because large gatherings of people have been banned since spring, concerts took place on a smaller scale or not at all.

Most recently, the band Die Doctors appealed to politicians in the »Tagesthemen«.

Because of the lack of opportunities to perform during the crisis, many people in the concert industry have not had a job for seven months, said drummer Bela B.
