(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 18 - The European Parliament is not willing to renegotiate the agreement reached with the Council on the 2021-2027 budget and on the rule of law.

It was read in a note published at the end of the conference of presidents of the European political 'families'.

Hungary, Poland and now Slovenia too are lining up on the front of the no to the agreements on the Recovery fund which exclude the countries where there is no rule of law, effectively blocking the implementation of the agreements.

A video summit of leaders will be held tomorrow, but diplomatic sources exclude that a solution can be found soon.

"The situation is serious, it will take some time - observes the note from the EEP -. The agreements reached (both on the EU multiannual financial framework and on the rule of law) are closed - the note states - and cannot in any way be reopened.

No further concessions. it will be done by us. "

"We ask the Council to adopt the package and start the ratification process as soon as possible", reads the note.

(HANDLE).
