"As the Italian drug agency Aifa we will stimulate further studies for active pharmacovigilance also with innovative means, such as an app" for monitoring vaccinated people.
This was stated by the general director of Aifa, Nicola Magrini, on the occasion of the meeting 'A vaccine for all' promoted by the International magazine in Ferrara, about anti-Covid vaccines and the vaccination campaign that will also start in Italy.
At the moment, Magrini underlined, "there are 45 vaccines already being tested in humans, 3 of which are now in the final stages of large-scale randomized clinical trials on several tens of thousands of patients. We can say that these studies will guarantee a good evaluation of the benefits and risks of these three vaccines ". "It is not a question of having preferences or not, contrary to the utterances made in recent days, but - he specified - to control the data as an international research community".
The research, he added, "has started and I think we should all ask regulatory authorities for maximum transparency and access to data and no shortcuts".
