Meir Hospital received the highest satisfaction score of the patients - 77.

This is as part of a ranking of the ten largest emergency rooms conducted by the Service Division of the Ministry of Health.

The score weighs metrics such as patient treatment, waiting times, providing clear explanations and more.

It was followed by the classification of Sheba Hospital (76), Assaf Harofe (75), Soroka - the busiest classification in the country - received a score of 73 and so did the valley.

Shaare Zedek, Rambam and Galilee Medical Centers in Nahariya received a 72 satisfaction score.

Of the ten hospitals whose emergency room receives the most patients per year, Beilinson (70), Wolfson (68) and Ichilov (64) close the list.

On Tuesday, construction work was done during the survey period, which apparently hurt satisfaction and ranking.

"A feeling that the patient is in good hands"

The average score for the total experience of visiting the emergency rooms in Israel was 74 - the same as that recorded in 2018 and 8% higher than that measured in 2017.

The emergency rooms or departments of emergency medicine are known to be the entrance gate and showcase of the hospitals.

The survey included 11,242 respondents, who were treated in the emergency rooms between May and August 2019

The highest score (83) was given to the patient with respect and respect.

The parameter "feeling that the patient is in good hands" was rated 76, the physical conditions 75 and the waiting times 73.

The emergency departments of pediatrics received a summary score of 85, much higher than that of adults (71).

The leading children's classification in Zion is Rambam (92), followed by Assuta Ashdod (90) and Carmel (90).

In the ranking of the next ten hospitals, where the emergency rooms are smaller, the list is led by Assuta Ashdod with a score of 80, followed by Poria (79), Barzilai (78), Kaplan (77), Ziv and Hadassah Mount Scopus (76) and Carmel (75).

Closes the list of small hospitals Hadassah Ein Kerem and Laniado (72) and Hillel Yaffe (67).

The hospitals that recorded a significant increase in the score compared to last year are Barzilai (increased by 15 points), Assaf Harofe (6+), Kaplan (5.5+) and Meir (4+).

The hospitals that lost points and dropped in the rankings are Hillel Yaffe, Shaarei Madak and Ichilov (dropped by 8 points each) and Nahariya (15).

The bad news

Additional data: 26% of respondents were hospitalized in wards.

Almost a third of them (30%) suffer from chronic diseases.

17% of respondents arrived by ambulance.

The bad news is that the length of stay in the emergency room has increased compared to the data for 2017 to 2019. For example, there is a 36% increase in those staying in the emergency room for four hours or more.

Almost one-fifth of the patients (19.4%) were in the emergency room for 4 to 6 hours and 17% were in the emergency room for more than six hours.

In large emergency rooms, the average length of stay is higher (3:36 hours), compared to medium-sized hospitals (02:57) and small ones (02:34 hours).

The issues that most affected the patients 'sense that they were in good hands were organized and orderly work in the emergency room, the doctors' listening to the patient and their response to questions and concerns, coordination and cooperation of the staff and understandable explanations to the patient.

Lower satisfaction in most parameters was found in women, in patients in super-centers and in medium-sized hospitals (compared to small hospitals).

Patients who arrived during the evening shift or on Sundays (busier shifts) also received less good service, according to the survey.
