An AMN report published today (Sunday) showed that there is again an increase in the number of patients in the corona wards in hospitals as well as in the number of those infected in the country.

Against the background of the new data, we asked experts in the field whether they think it is right to continue with the facilitation and opening of schools and shops, or whether it is currently worth stopping.

"If we do not change the procedures - the situation will be very bad"

Prof. Michal Liniel of the Institute of Life Sciences in the Department of Biological Chemistry at the Hebrew University, which deals with corona research and has published many articles in the field, states that Israel is harmed again due to mismanagement, and that without general systemic change we will reach a closure that it says is unnecessary.

"First we need to open up the whole education system right now, all the layers all the classes, this is what the world is doing even in countries with thousands and tens of thousands infected a day. The harm to children is irreversible and it is impossible to continue with this unnecessary game," she said.

"At the same time, all paradigms need to be changed, and tens and hundreds of thousands of tests performed daily, with a clean citizen receiving a three-day bracelet that is not contagious during those three days. Such a citizen can go shopping, sporting events, restaurants, places all over the country." "With the corona, give positive reinforcement on the tests and not turn them into a punishment. The world has already understood this and the professionals in the country have understood it. That way there will be no closure and that way we will be able to manage the epidemic in the country as well."

"Neighborhoods and cities will take responsibility for themselves. People will voluntarily do tests to get around. This is how to behave properly and prevent closure because closure is a bad thing. Only in Israel for some reason this simple truth does not penetrate the political echelon that leads us blindly to total and unnecessary closure. "There is no point in the closure, it is a harmful thing, we have to do tests at a huge level and release those who are not sick for 72 hours at a time, so that closure will be avoided and we can contain the corona. Otherwise, as is happening right now, everything will explode inside us."

"If the public is not disciplined we will be in trouble"

Dr. Rivka Abulafia Lapid from the Faculty of Medicine at the Hebrew University, notes that Israel's problem is public discipline: "In fact, the closure in Israel has exhausted itself because its damage is enormous.

Damage to children, adults, businesses so despite the increase at the moment I do not support the closure but the continued opening of the economy.

But one must embark on a large and comprehensive information campaign, and check where the foci of infection are and then go on closures for the night from an early hour and other ways to prevent infection.

Also need to increase sanctions in the country, fines, enforcement, distance 2 meters.

"Nothing is enforced in the country, so there is a problem, but this is the general direction that needs to be followed."

"The places in the world where closures really worked were in very disciplined cultures but it does not suit the Israeli public, and worse the economic situation in the country and other parameters show that closure can no longer be taken. So despite the increase at the moment, I think "For dialogue with community leaders, many and sector leaders. Otherwise we will be in further outbreaks and we will not be able to withstand them: neither educational, nor mental nor economic. Therefore the state and the current commissioner must go down, define areas by color and look for ways to prevent infection. Otherwise it will be very bad."

"Great news for medical professionals"

Meanwhile, Health Minister Yuli Edelstein welcomed the government's decision to approve the Minister of Immigration and Absorption's proposal to release and remove the barriers to obtaining medical licenses in Israel, which are faced by new immigrants with medical and para-medical licenses from abroad.

“As a representative of immigrants in the past, I can remember all the directors of the Ministry of Health for generations that I fought with everyone for this thing.

I now feel like the wing of history history has been settled for an injustice that has lasted for years.

During this time there is both encouragement for her and great news for the rising medical professionals.

Beyond that, the State of Israel needs every doctor and every nurse and brother and every wild medical man.

They will be a significant addition to the enormous tasks that lie ahead of the health care system. "
