Whether or not you have to work in quarantine initially depends on whether you are

symptoms of Covid-19 disease

According to the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV), the doctor can put you on sick leave if you feel signs of corona disease such as cough, fever or a slight sore throat.
With the certificate of incapacity for work (AU) issued, you report sick to the employer.
In this case, of course, you don't have to work in quarantine, just like with other illnesses.

However,
if you
do not show any symptoms of an illness with SARS-CoV-2 in quarantine at home, you must work
if you can work from home
.
The same applies if you are in quarantine at another location and can work from there on the move (for example on a business trip).
But be careful: Those who do not work even though they could work in quarantine are walking on thin ice.
Because under labor law, this amounts to a
refusal
to work.
