A deer is said to have disarmed a hunter in the Czech Republic.
A group of hunters roamed the forest in search of small game when their dog startled the animal, said a spokesman for the police headquarters in Budweis (Ceske Budejovice).
The stag ran up to one of the men, touched his shoulder, tore his sleeve and picked up the slung rifle with its antlers, according to a message in Czech.
The incident took place at Horni Plana (Oberplan) in the Bohemian Forest, not far from the border triangle between Bavaria, Austria and the Czech Republic.
The animal was spotted a kilometer away with the gun hanging from its antlers, it said.
"The hunters had no choice but to report the incident to the police," the spokesman explained.
Any finders were asked to hand over the hunting rifle to the nearest police station.
