Grammy nominations: Beyoncé with 9 in front, Dua Lipa, Roddy Ricch, Taylor Swift with 6

Not bad for a year without a regular album: Beyoncé tops the list of Grammy nominees with nine nominations for major music awards. This is followed by three stars with six chances each.

The nominations for the Grammy Awards, the most important music award in the world, are notorious - after all, potential winners are to be announced in 83 categories, from "Best Regional Mexican Music Album (Including Tejano)" to "Best Chamber Music / Small Ensemble Performance" to "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album".

In the latter category, by the way, Kanye West is nominated for "Jesus Is King".

At the end there is a long list of nominees, and the most common this time is Beyoncé Knowles.

The singer received a total of nine nominations, including four for the song "Black Parade": As best R&B song and best R&B recording, as well as song of the year and in the king category of "Record of the Year".

Beyoncé is represented twice in it, because she is also nominated as a guest singer of Megan Thee Stallion on "Savage" - the song is also shortlisted in two rap categories.

Further price opportunities await the best music video ("Brown Skin Girl") and the best music film ("Black Is King").

So far, Beyoncé has won 24 Grammys in her career.

Taylor Swift has had ten Grammys to date - she could win six categories at the awards ceremony in 2021.

This includes the cross-genre category of the album of the year ("Folklore") as well as the song of the year ("Cardigan").

Her duet "Exile" with Bon Iver is in the running for "Best Pop Duo / Group Performance", "Beautiful Ghosts" from "Cats" as the best song written for visual media.

Pianist Igor Levit nominated

The other two six-time nominees have been in business for less: the British Dua Lipa, who was named "Best New Artist" in 2019, has been nominated for six Grammys this time, three times for the song "Don't Start Me Now", twice for the album "Future Nostalgia".

The Californian rapper Roddy Ricch could add another Grammy award to his so far: His six nominations are split between the two songs "The Box" and "Rockstar", in which he has a feature appearance for DaBaby.

In the classical categories there are, as almost always, some nominated recordings in which musicians from Germany are involved.
