"We think we need to introduce greater precautions to prevent a surge in infections, we must avoid it".
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said this at a press conference from Palma de Mallorca in response to a question about the measures that the government will implement for Christmas.
"We do not want to invade choices of a national nature, we are taking care to avoid cross-border transfers, avoiding that if you go abroad you can return without any health checks", added Conte.
"The school - he said again - must be reopened as soon as possible. We must not cause inconvenience to our young people in particular".
