"We are going to miss you Diego," wrote the artist along with a photo of the former footballer when he was a member of the Italian club Naples.
For his part, the Argentine president,

"You took us to the top of the world. You made us immensely happy. You were the greatest of all," he wrote along with the snapshot.
"Thank you for having existed, Diego. We are going to miss you forever," added the president.
There is no doubt that Maradona was one of the best footballers in football history, although he also starred in some scandals that are remembered today.
His strong temperament as a player and technical director also put him in the middle of controversy on more than one occasion off the field.
In 1994 he attacked with a compressed air rifle a group of journalists and photographers who were waiting for him outside his house in Buenos Aires.
