Shops, trips, places of worship ... what changes from Saturday

2020-11-28T20:06:06.400Z

This weekend, the first phase of the progressive deconfinement announced by the government will be launched. Most shops, except

As of Saturday, several health rules will be relaxed, marking phase 1 of the reduction in constraints announced Tuesday by Emmanuel Macron.

Be careful, however, wearing a mask as well as the exceptional travel certificate remains a requirement for going out.

We take stock of these new measures.

  • Reopening of so-called “non-essential” businesses

All shops, with the exception of restaurants, bars, cinemas and theaters, will reopen this Saturday, until 9 p.m.

The “non-essential” departments of supermarkets will also be accessible again.

A long-awaited measure a few weeks before Christmas.

However, this reopening will be done within the framework of a strict sanitary protocol with a gauge increased to 8m² per customer, or rather per group of customers, since there will be, for example, a tolerance for a couple with a child.

The businesses will also have to “commit” to ensuring a certain quality of the air, either by ventilating regularly, or thanks to an efficient ventilation system.

The government has also pledged to facilitate exemptions from opening for shops on Sundays during the month of December.

Certificates, Christmas, restaurants ... what to remember from Macron's announcements

  • The wider promenade perimeter

From November 28, it will be possible to take the air for three hours, instead of an hour currently, and within a radius of twenty km around your home, against one km today.

  • Reopening of places of worship

Churches, mosques, temples and other places of worship will be able to reopen their doors to the faithful, but with a gauge set at 30 people and a reinforced health protocol.

A limit which aroused the anger of several representatives of the Catholic Church.

This gauge could however change rapidly thereafter, depending in particular on the size of the reception area.

As of Saturday, the driving schools “will be able to resume their driving activities”, specified Jean Castex on Thursday, but the revisions of the theoretical tests will continue to be done remotely.

  • Resumption of individual outdoor sport

Playing sports or individual physical activity outdoors such as tennis, athletics, golf, fishing… will be well authorized from Saturday, Jean Castex confirmed Thursday.

  • Resumption of real estate visits

Finally, the Prime Minister also specified that real estate visits “will be authorized” during this first stage of deconfinement.

These new measures should make it possible to take a first step towards a return to normal life, but Jean Castex however warned against any slackening.

If the objectives set by the government during this phase are not met and the number of Covid-19 contaminations is still too high, deconfinement, initially scheduled for December 15, may not take place.
