Egg yolks and whites stick to the house facade and window frames.

Broken eggs and shattered glasses lie on the floor of a balcony.

Tomato sauce has spilled over the tiles.

The photos that the presiding judge presented in the courtroom on Friday show a picture of the devastation - or as Janis J. will later put it: "That was the normal vandalism we lived with."

The balcony in the photos belongs to the apartment of Janis J. and his mother Hildegard.

The two live in an apartment building on Falkenhagener Strasse in Berlin-Spandau.

According to the indictment, the egg thrower is her neighbor, Abdulkadir Osman.

The 37-year-old is said to have tyrannized his neighborhood for months: with egg-throwing, yelling, reenactments, threatening gestures, with destroyed mailboxes and door locks, with excrement under the doormat and nightly noise.

Abdulkadir Osman is a member of the Rammo clan, also known as the Remmo clan.

Osman's sister is said to be married to the brother of clan chief Issa Rammo.

Gregor Gysi as legal advisor

Hildegard and Janis J. testify on this day as witnesses before the district court of Berlin-Tiergarten.

Hildegard J. is 60 years old and works as a secretary.

She brought Gregor Gysi with her as a witness.

Gysi is not only a left-wing politician, but also a lawyer.

He doesn't have much to do in court that day.

Above all, Gysi tries to relieve Hildegard J. of the excitement and gestures to indicate that she should speak a little more slowly.

The accused portray mother and son as a man who pretends to be the sole ruler.

Osman claimed a parking space in the courtyard that belonged to another neighbor, as well as the garden, which was actually shared, and the hallway that he had abused as a storage room.

In April 2018, they secretly filmed Osman's tantrum.

This video also shows the dish.

You can see Osman standing in the garden, yelling into his cell phone and demanding that his brothers and cousins come to the house immediately.

"We got scared and called the police," says Hildegard J.

The witness reports on the two faces of the defendant.

In a moment, Osman could "go from a raging man in the yard to a very friendly man", "joking with the police officers."

After the roar, the neighbors hired a private security service for two nights "because we were really scared."

Every smear is documented

The residents felt left alone for a long time by the police and the judiciary.

Ads were not even followed up and the terror in the house was ridiculed as a neighborhood dispute.

She still worries about not being taken seriously.

“Everyone probably thinks I'm exaggerating.

But that's the opposite of exaggeration. ”She couldn't list everything that had happened over the years.

You and other affected neighbors keep a list in which every egg thrown, every broken door lock, every smear, every incident is documented.

Abdulkadir Osman also repeatedly reported his neighbors.

"A tactic that worked for years," says Hildegard J. A photo shows broken eggs on Osman's balcony.

The neighbors are convinced that he or his partner are the culprits.

Hildegard J. is now something of a trace expert.

In court she confidently points out to the judges that one of the egg yolks on Osman's balcony has not melted, but is still whole.

That speaks against a throw from several meters away.

The direction of the throw can also be read from the egg splash on your own balcony.

"I reacted stupidly once," says Hildegard J., it sounds like a confession.

She once woke up from a throwing attack at around 11.30 p.m.

A cup of quark landed on her balcony.

She got mad, took the cup and threw it on Osman's balcony.

He reported about it on the Internet and portrayed her as "a vicious racist."

Osman has repeatedly insulted her and her neighbors as "xenophobes".

A reproach that hits her and that she rejects.

"I am the last one to deny that there is a racism problem in this country."

The court shows another mobile phone video, it should be from February 2019.

It shows a hooded man standing on Osman's balcony and allegedly throwing eggs.

The witness is certain: "I am of the opinion that this is Mr. Osman."

What is the motivation of the egg thrower?

First of all, the retired couple Klaus-Dieter and Karla

Niche has been affected by the attacks.

The couple lives directly above the defendant.

Later, Hildegard J. and her son came into focus.

The neighbors support each other.

When the mother and son testify, the Nisch couple is sitting in the auditorium.

Klaus-Dieter and Karla Nisch

had already testified on the previous day of the trial.

“What do you think is the motivation behind the egg thrower?” Asks defense attorney Nicole Bédé the witness.

“My interpretation is that it annoys him if you don't obey him.

He wants everyone to obey him. ”The defense attorney addresses speculation that the Remmo clan would like to scare away the apartment owners in order to gain possession of the property themselves.

“You don't think the clan would like to buy the apartments?” She asks.

"I don't think he would behave like that then," says Hildegard J.

"Have you ever talked to Issa Rammo?" Asks the defense attorney.

Hildegard J. laughs, she laughs a lot.

No, she did not speak to the clan chief.

"Never?" "No," says Hildegard J., still laughing.

But she read in the newspaper that Issa Rammo distanced herself from Abdulkadir Osman.

The »Berliner Zeitung« quoted the clan boss in May 2019 as saying: »This is an idiot.« You don't threaten your neighbors.

"You lose respect with such behavior."

The court then hears Hildegard J.'s son as a witness.

Janis J., 32, is a student.

He confirms the terror that his mother has already reported.

And he says that shortly after she moved in in April 2016, he noticed the smears and devastation in the house.

Even then he thought: "A madman lives here."
