(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 30 - The guide is born to help customers in sustainable management of the entire life cycle of food delivery, from home ordering to disposal and separate collection.

To propose it is the app for home delivery of food Just Eat and Just Eat Takeaway.com with LifeGate, one of the references on sustainability issues in Italy.

Laguida - explains a note - is accredited with the first in the sector and wants to be a support for consumers and customers who order at home, with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of an informed use of the service and generating a positive impact on the environment.

The guide available online on the Just Eat blog in the Sustainable Food Delivery section, is divided into two main areas, "Ordering: awareness and sustainability" and "Disposing: attention to the environment and the planet", retracing all the stages of home delivery.

With the initiative, the Just Eat Observatory notes that 74% of Italians are careful not to waste food when ordering online, reflecting on the quantities based on the number of people expected for the meal.

It is underlined, on the basis of a survey carried out on a sample of over 12,000 customers of the service, that 33% say that they order from the nearest restaurants to reduce environmental impacts and support small local businesses, not to use plastic cutlery or plates (32 %), to drink water from the tap and not in plastic bottles (29%), and to order from restaurants that use eco-sustainable packaging (28%) and from platforms that have sustainable behavior (28%).
