(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 1 - The French skipper Kevin Escoffier, boarded his lifeboat after experiencing a serious water leak on his boat, was rescued and rescued by his compatriot and rival Jean Le Cam during the VendéeGlobe. The BBC reports.
Third in the race, Escoffier had sounded the alarm in an area known for waves and strong winds on the edge of the Indian Ocean, 600 miles southwest of the Cape of Good Hope. LeCam deviated from the course from the race and joined his teammate around 4pm but only managed to take him at 1am tonight.
"A great relief, Kevin is aboard the Hubert safe and sound," Le Cam tweeted. (HANDLE).
