From Mameli's Inno to Va Pensiero, from Azzurro to Il cielo è più blu, from Roma Capoccia to Napule è.

These are just some of the songs that broke the unreal silence of our cities, opening a glimmer of hope and lightheartedness during the hot days of the Covid emergency.

A playlist made of notes and resilience that has crossed Italy from North to South, reminding us of the true power of music: that of uniting and breaking down any distance, even in full lockdown.

That's why Spotify today dedicates a special thanks to the Italy of balconies and singing flashmobs.

It does so with a series of banners, delivered by surprise right under those balconies and windows, the scene of some of the most unforgettable and exciting performances that have been the soundtrack to our quarantine.

And conquered the pages of the main foreign newspapers.

From the terrace of Jacopo Mastrangelo - the 19-year-old Roman protagonist of a moving tribute to Ennio Morricone, which immediately went viral - to the balcony of the 21-year-old Matilde Prestinari, from the flash mob of maestro Mimmo Ascione in Naples - who with his wand directed an entire condominium - to the historic condominiums of Monte Amiata and Ca 'Longa in Milan.

Without forgetting, of course, the artists.

Those who, waiting to return to play on a real stage, have found a new way to keep the music on and support people in such a difficult moment.

Among those that Spotify has chosen - symbolically - to pay homage, Giuliano Sangiorgi could not miss, who from his balcony in Rome gave us a touching interpretation of "Meraviglioso", Fedez and Chiara Ferragni, who broke the silence of the lockdown with their live from the balcony of Citylife and Jo Squillo who made us dance like crazy with his DJ sessions.

Many messages, but only one hashtag to unite them all: #GrazieBalconi.
