Italy to Iran, don't kill Djalali

(ANSA) - ROME, 02 DEC - At the request of Minister Di Maio, the Secretary General, Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni, expressed to the Ambassador of Iran in Italy the strong concern of the Italian government and public opinion over the news of the decision to follow up on death sentence in Iran of Dr. Ahmadreza Djalali. This was announced by the Farnesina.


   Belloni, recalling Italy's commitment to a global moratorium on the death penalty, appealed to the Iranian authorities to desist from carrying out the sentence.


   Italy will continue to follow Djalali's case closely, in close coordination with its European partners. (HANDLE).
