The event, originally scheduled for February 28, will be held on April 25 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, with a capacity of 3,400 seats.
The institution has not yet specified what sanitary measures the site will have, but an expert has assured the magazine that "multiple options" are being studied.
The organizers have insisted that the gala be as close as possible to how Hollywood's most iconic night has traditionally been carried.
The Academy has already made some adjustments to adapt to the pandemic and its consequences in the world of cinema.
The delay in the date of the gala for two months, with the extension of the nomination deadline until February 28, has been done with the expectation that the cinemas will open and more productions will participate.
The institution also approved an exception so that films that have not been screened in cinemas, but intend to do so, can be candidates through

platforms
.
Many studios, concerned about billing, have decided to reserve their big premieres for later, in the hope that the situation will improve.
