Unable to open his restaurant, due to a pandemic, chef Mattia Collu welcomes his customers in his establishment's parking lot ... His Belgian-style drive-in has met with some success.
"We came to the only restaurant in Belgium that is open, in a unique formula that completely seduced and charmed us", explains Françoise Gendebien, while tasting seafood, seated with her husband in their vehicle.
That evening, more than a dozen motorhomes were set up in front of Matthias and Sea, a gourmet restaurant in Tarcienne (Province of Namur, southern Belgium. Here, no risk of contamination, the waiter carries the dishes. made in the kitchen, covered with aluminum foil, up to the vehicle door, respecting barrier gestures.

The chef, Mattia Collu, has transformed his parking lot into a dining room and even into a hotel, since customers can sleep on site.
By renting them a motorhome available on site if necessary.
The idea came to him "by going to make deliveries", like these many restaurateurs converted to take-out, the only legal way to continue their activity in a period of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Seeing motorhomes at his customers' homes, he ended up saying to himself: "why bring back trays every time, create packaging, if people have the comfort of their motorhome, and (can) come to us?"

A la carte, fish dishes are offered at around 30 euros, while the lobster menu is available at 58 euros.
