With drops of sweat on his face and a drenched shirt, Marcus Bischoff shouts into the microphone, which he holds with both hands.

Then he clenches his right hand into a fist, holds it up and calls out: "Come on!"

Bischoff's band Heaven Shall Burn is performing at the heavy metal festival in Wacken, not for the first time, but now everything is different.

No people dance in front of the stage, animated dots move.

A festival appearance in Corona year 2020. Without an audience, without applause.

The fact that Bischoff, 41, is even standing on a stage this year and screaming into the microphone is an exception.

Because mostly he rushes through the corridors of a hospital in Saalfeld in his native Thuringia.

In addition to his job as a singer with Heaven Shall Burn, a very successful German metal band, he works - as an intensive care worker.

That wasn't planned.

When the pandemic spreads in Germany in March, Bischoff was actually on vacation with the band.

Heaven Shall Burn are about to release their new album ("Of Truth and Sacrifice"), a tour that is already sold out is pending, the flight to a concert in Mexico is booked.
