Coronavirus in France: 284 deaths and more than 11,200 new cases in 24 hours

A total of 26,283 patients are currently hospitalized in France for a SARS-CoV-2 infection.The improvement on the coronavirus front continues in France. Some 11,221 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified in the past 24 hours in France, of which 2,219 have been diagnosed by antigenic tests and 9,002 by PCR test. The improvement on the coronavirus front continues in France.

The day before, that total figure stood at 12,696 people who tested positive.

The test positivity rate is currently 10.7%.

The health authorities also record 284 additional deaths due to Covid-19, against 326 on Thursday.

In total, 54,767 people have died from Covid-19 since the start of the epidemic in France, including 37,608 in hospitals.

Still 3,283 patients in intensive care

In the past 24 hours, 165 people have been admitted to intensive care for a total number of patients which stood at 3283 on Thursday, against 3415 on Thursday.

In total, 26,283 patients are currently hospitalized in France for a SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Finally, Public Health France has identified 3,240 sources of contamination, including 1,422 in nursing homes.
