After a difficult year to digest due to the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics, Dentsu takes the bull by the horns by initiating a vast plan to reorganize its activities around the world.
Faced with a drop in revenues of nearly 10% over the first nine months of the year, the Japanese group, number five in the world in communications, plans to reduce the number of its employees outside Japan by 6,000, or 12 , 5% of its 48,000 employees in total.
This should allow it to save $ 530 million by the end of 2021.

In addition, the plan marks a drastic reduction in the number of commercial brands (agencies, studios, consulting firms, etc.).
Currently 160 in number, the main subsidiaries, often resulting from acquisitions, will be grouped together in the next two years to form only six “global leader entities”, ie six clearly identified networks.
The choice of brands to maintain is currently being arbitrated.
